Most people expect to receive gifts from others on their birthday.

Bobby Ray isn’t most people though. And that’s apparent on any one of his songs.

Instead of accepting gifts for his birthday, Bobby Ray a.k.a B.o.B wants to give you a gift.

B.o.B teamed up with DJ Scream to present the Who The F#*k Is B.o.B? mixtape which is available as a free download below.

Social Networking & Blogging In Today’s Music Business

I usually stray away from interviews because I’m most often asked to divulge information about artists and labels I’m working with or they ask for specific details about projects I’m involved with.

I obviously can’t discuss that type of information, but when Cyber PR Urban reached out to me about discussing social media and how artists today can use social networks to their benefit, I happily agreed.

Here’s an excerpt from our discussion:

Music Bloggers Beware

As I was doing my blog rounds today, I came across a post on DJ Lissa Monét’s blog, talking about a recent situation involving popular music blog, Palms Out Sounds.

As it turns out, Google’s blog service, Blogger.com, has recently begun a campaign against all music blogs hosted on their servers posting new music.

Even if you’re not hosting the file yourself but just posting a link to a file hosted elsewhere, you can be effected:

Google, the IFPI & the RIAA have begun a campaign against all the music blogs hosted on blogger.com - especially high profile blogs, like Palms Out.

This first started a couple of months ago, but only hit Palms Out about a month ago.

Without warning, Google removed three old posts from the blog, and offered no explanation. They then followed by removing Remix Sunday 131, and 132- and offered a brief explanation. Keep in mind, there is no actual copyrighted content uploaded by Palms Out that is hosted on any of Google’s servers, only hyperlinks.

For more read the full post over at Palms Out Sounds.

While you’re at it, if you’re hungry for some new music, I suggest checking out The Difference mixtape by DJ Lissa Monét & The Legends League.

Dreams Can Come True

Martin Luther King Jr. & Barack Obama - Dreams Can Come True

"The greatest achievements were at first and for a time dreams." - James Allen

Last night was a truly historic evening.

Most of us were overcome with so much emotion, it was and still is difficult to express our sentiments with words.

I recently discussed what Barack Obama represents for many of us; that he provides proof of the idea that we can do anything.

Although my post was quite brief, it inspired some great conversations with some friends, so I thought I’d delve a little further into the topic.

This has nothing to do with politics.

This is about having dreams, keeping faith and accomplishing goals.
